Help your children feel steady
When parents separate, children's worlds change. This self-paced course gives you practical, research-based tools to lower conflict, keep kids out of the middle, and understand what your children need at every age. It's for any parent or caregiver raising children across two homes: divorcing, separated, never married, grandparents, stepparents, and parents in custody cases. You can take it on your own, even if the other parent doesn't.
Build a plan for two homes
You will learn:
- How children experience separation, and what helps them adjust
- What kids need from babies to teens
- Signs your child is struggling, and when to get help
- How to manage conflict and keep children out of the middle
- Cooperative and parallel parenting, and how to tell which fits your family
- The financial side of two homes, including Texas child support basics
- Family violence, child abuse and neglect, and safety planning
- Local and statewide resources
Meet the instructor
Stacy Reynolds, M.MFT
I'm Stacy Reynolds, a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist Associate and Licensed Chemical Dependency Counselor Intern in Abilene, Texas. I've spent over four years working with families navigating relationship harm, addiction, and trauma, and my doctoral research focuses on intimate partner violence within the queer community.
This course is what I wish more families had access to. Separation changes a child's world, but it does not have to break it. Here you will find practical, research-based tools to lower conflict, keep your children out of the middle, and help them feel safe and loved in both homes, whether or not the other parent takes the course too.
Licensed by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Marriage and Family Therapists (#205804) and the Texas Department of State Health Services (#72791). Supervised by Lisa Powell, Ph.D., LMFT-S.
